massive attack

Really liked them, I probably said this before but I pay alot of.attention to the sounds or instruments alot more than I do lyrics and their songs didnt have any lyrics so that was right up my alley. A Friend of mine had told me they were really good a while back but I just never bothered listening to them until we all did in class and I have to say they we're good and my friend was right

Radiohead

Stupid videos, good music. Not saying they were all stupid but the animated one and the one where the guy was floating were stupid. I liked the music though but i could easily go without the videos

REM/smashing pumpkins

I didnt like rem. Kind of to soft for me, at least I thought it was soft, I may be wrong.
I was alright with smashijg pumpkins though. They've got a great style butbut not the type of rock id walk around and listen to onon the regular.

Early 90s hip hop

I like this stuff, but ive listened to it to much that i dont want to anymore. I really dont have much to say about it..

primus

Like you said, "good players, weird people"
I don't know about the lyrics but they did have some nice sound for only having 3 guys in the band without a designated sin ger.

Nirvana

I liked nirvana i really did. I could tell it was alternative rock the second i heard "smells like teen spirit" Im really into the alternative genre of music like alternative hip hop and alternative jazz. Its the smoothest genre of music if you ask me and i enjoy smoother styles of music. Im not saying nirvana is soft and relaxing or anything but i thing their sounds are just uhh "cleaner" than others bands.

Their album was also really distinctive. All the songs almost had the exact the same sound to them and that way you could tell it was them. Its almost like a rza produced track, like the second you hear one, you already know it was produced by rza because he has some of the most recognizable beats in all of hip hop. Same goes with dr dre.

Beastie boys

You know, i would really enjoy the beastie boys if i knew what they were saying, sadly i dont know what they're saying and its sounds like they're screaming a bunch of gibberish. Really, i like the sounds of the beastie boys but i just dont know what they're saying. I cant get the message.

NWA

NWA.. I listened to them on a consistet basis from 7th grade to about 9th grade. They got old kinda quick if you ask me but from that time i listened to them I was strictly NWA. Its a shame that they were only around for two albums but they were still pretty good. I like all the disses within the group after they started dissoliving. Eazy es "real muthaphuckin gs" (directed toward dr dre.) Ice cubes "no vasaline" (directed towards all of nwa sublimanly) and "100 miles and runnin" (directed towards ice cube who the first to leave the group) I havent really listened to any west coast music since 9th grade and ive somehow just switched completley to east coast. Not because im one of those kids like "Oh yeah biggie is better, east coast for life" and force myself to listen to the east coast even if i dont like their music. Once i started listening to Wu-tang i kinda started to just somehow find myself listening to alot of other east coast artists (whose names i wont mention, just because) to this day im still listening to the east coast, Old artist and New.

Saturday night live original

I never really liked snl and seeing that "vintage" episode didn't really sway my opinion much. I dont really know what else i have to say about this.. The whole joe cocker thing was pretty funny but the other stuff i guess i didnt really pay attention to so i wouldnt really know but yeah..this is some pretty bad writing

U2

Im not a fan of U2 where i would go and download/purchase a whole album and listen to it for entertainment purposes. Now i would add it to my sleeping playlist because it registers at that level in my of book for the sleep level but not exactly the "sit down at home and just listen to" like i would do with some of the other artist i listen too.

rap

this is the type of music that i kind of listen to right now because i really dont like rap this generation. "weed weed weed smoke smoke booty booty weed" is all you hear now

80s

WOw, I thought I knew 80s music but I was wrong. Lasting in the 80s had toto be pretty bad for the minorities. The only non rock musicians I can think of arr erix b and rakim, epmd and publox enemy in the 80s and possibly boogie down productions

Justin Timberlake 20/20

Over this spring I started listening to justin.Timberlake agaim and I downloaded his new album and I really like it. Its a 70 minute album but I think that its worth it for the most part

michael Jackson

ive heard way to much michael jackson to a poijt where his music jjst spunds nkrmal to me. ive got at least 4 of his vinyls including thriller amd a coiple jackson 5 ones. (pardon my spelling.im using.my phone)

disco

This was by far the most intriguing and interesting day of music that we've had so far in my opinion. I liked all of it just..you know just because. I think in the future we should go on more "youtube odysseys" because i feel thats the most effective way to digest music when we can actually see the videos to along with what we are listening to.

Elvis costello

No, i did not like him that much. im positive that i cant sleep to that music and i said in one of my other blogs that i base music on how well i can sleep to it (you'd be suprised at what i sleep too)

patti smith

I dont know but i actually didnt mind her. I base most of my music on how well i can fall asleep to it and if i wasnt in class i think i could Fall asleep to her music. It wasn't like British punk or anything like that and i honestly dont even think it was punk.

The ramones

Uhh not something id really prefer. They sound sort of like a band that i would listen to in 4th grade or something because they had that one catchy song and i was a sucker for catchy songs back then. The ramones are a super repetitive band who constantly repeat themselfves. Not really fan but i do like their music over the lyrics

LIL B THE BASED GOD

Before i continue with the rest of this blog, i would like to take a moment to thank the based god lil b. Now i have discovered som extremly rare and based music by lil b and i would like to share the music.

Stevie wonder

that album was ridicoulously good like no joke. Soon as i got home i downloaded it and one of these days im going to the public library and im going to fall asleep to the album as i did with undun by the roots. The public library is a really good place to take naps because its just so quiet..and when you combine that with CHILL music then you have the perfect sleep combination.

marvin gaye

I really enjoyed that album and its not the first time ive heard it. I feel that his music is heavily underappreciated and slandered by his song use in corny movies of the the generation we live in today.
His music is really soothing and as a kid, i used to go to sleep with his music playing. Overall i really liked what we listened to

The band

I  liked them, they were pretty good. It seems like they would be the closest thing to the beatles.. I thought it was cool how everybody in "the band" actually sang, and how the drummer was the lead singer. Also, that collaboration that they did with those soul singers should probably go down as the greatest collaboration of all time because its just simply unmatched

led zeppelin iv

Id never really heard a led zeppelin song before and they definitley aren't what i thought they would be, and thats a good thing. I thought they were like hard rock or something but its actually kind of not as hard as i thought it would be. I wouldnt say it was a jazz type album but some jazz elements certainly were thrown into the songs.

girl talk

cant honestly say that i had heard of girl talk before this video but yeah he certainly makes music with tons of controversy surrounding due, to all of that copyright infringement yada yada. To me, girl talk sounds like a better skrillex..and thats about it. I also want to throw out that i haven't bought a song or album in at least the past 4 years and i hope to keep it that way for many years to come, unless the RIAA or whatever really cracks down on things.

Sly and the family stone

I liked sly and the family stone, i know thats what my Grandma and aunt grew up listening to and yeah it pretty good. I like their inovative style and the bands large diversity.. im not all about "black people music" or "white music" or all of that i just like music.. were all people and thats really all that matters.
